§ About — Thrift Local
A downtown Myrtle Creek
treasure hunt
Thrift Local is an independent thrift store on Main Street in Myrtle Creek, Oregon. Our shelves hold clothing, shoes, books, toys, games, kitchenware, small appliances, furniture, décor, artwork and sporting goods, all of it donated, sorted and priced locally. Every item that reaches the floor has been looked over by hand, and because new donations arrive throughout the week, the store looks different almost every time you walk through the door.
This website is a digital archive of that experience. It exists to answer the questions people ask us most often: what kind of things do you carry, where are you, when are you open, and is it worth the drive? The discovery gallery shows the range of what moves through the shop, from mid-century furniture to uranium glass to a perfectly ordinary washer and dryer set, and the thrift guide explains how pricing, donations and the daily restock actually work.
The site is written for people in Douglas County and the wider Umpqua Valley: families furnishing a first apartment, collectors hunting a specific piece of glass or pottery, readers topping up a bookshelf for a few dollars, and anyone who would rather buy secondhand than buy new.

Why we built it
Secondhand shopping keeps usable goods in circulation, keeps money in the neighborhood, and puts a decent couch or winter coat within reach of a family that could not otherwise afford one. A website can only point at that; the real work happens behind a red door on Main Street.
Who builds and maintains this site
Thrift Local owns and runs the store, writes the copy on these pages, and chooses what appears in the gallery. The site itself was designed and built by Reaching Oregon, a small digital studio that works with local businesses, and it is maintained as the store's inventory and hours change. Photographs and details of individual finds come from the shop floor, so descriptions stay honest: if a piece has a chip or a chair has a wobble, we would rather tell you before you drive over.
